The Academy

As much as we value objective quality of craft from proper theoretical education and practice, we need to communicate it in a way that our intended audience are able to relate to. The academy is a place where like-minded composers can get past the indifference and flattery and find ongoing advice that matters.

Mentorship Concept

MENTORSHIP METHOD

TEAM POLYVALENCE

A versatile and polyvalent team of five composers, enriched by temporary cooperation with top experts and references in their fields. United in the support of objective beauty, connected to the universal musical sense and diverse in abilities and styles.

HONEST BUT GENEROUS FEEDBACK

Direct honesty in feedback and critique, with empathy and consideration to take mentees out of abstract and isolated thinking into universal and down to earth understanding. No more complacency or lazy flattering of mediocrity or tolerance of ugliness, and restoring again into academic guidance values: generous, admirative and encouraging support or laudation when talent has met inspiration - and has resulted in blissful and powerful Beauty as immediately sensed by any listener.

OBJECTIVE MENTORING CONCEPT

To objectively guide the process of making the audience feel and think what the composer intends in the most effective possible way. Negative characteristics and obvious shortcomings are not anymore considered or called 'progressive innovations' - as they do not lead the Mentee to real elevation of skill and craft that could match the great Masters of our illustrious past.

EVALUATION OF WORK

Mentee shares a piece of music before the session.

CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK

The piece is listened to and instructions for improvement given during the session together.

FOLLOW-UP & STRATEGY TO SUCCESS

Mentee implements advice, and repeats sharing the piece and getting advice until the full potential of his inspiration and work is unleashed.

DEVELOPMENT COACHING

Advice to work with various resources to improve the craft is pointed to where need be.

PEER COMMUNITY

Complimentary encouragement and ideas facilitates the process in the exclusive chat group between sessions.
